Case study from Blackman and White

Dutch company Zeil-Doek has found its Blackman and White Genesis cutter so reliable it has never had to call out for an engineer’s visit.

Zeil-Doek – which manufactures a number of products using sail material that need strong but flexible solutions – has had its Genesis cutter for seven years as part of its complete workflow including finishing and stitching.

Owner Rikkert Hoogenboom said: “We custom make unique designs and constructions using PVC-coated fabric that can also be printed to include logos, branding and advertising messages.

“We have to be able to finish the designs to any specification and the accurate cutting of the Genesis with conveyor guarantees accurate results every time.”

Zeil-Doek’s products include various types and sizes of awnings and spans such as marquees, tents, stages and patio shades which can all be printed and meet the required health and safety conditions, such as non-flammable material.

“We can even create technical textiles for industry, use tension fabric to create internal walls and ceilings, or change the appearance of a building by producing a printed outer shell,” added Rikkert.

“Despite all the technical challenges of working on such varied jobs, in the number of years I’ve had Blackman and White machine I have never had to request a visit from an engineer. Any issues have all been solved over the phone and I can always speak to a Blackman and White engineer when necessary.

“Both the machine and the team deliver the top quality, reliable service you would expect from a company with the expertise and customer focus of Blackman and White.”
