Sign & Digital UK, the leading trade exhibition for the sign making and wide format printing industry, returns in 2015 with more than 180 of the sector’s biggest name suppliers, including Hewlett-Packard, Roland DG, Canon UK, Hybrid Services/Mimaki, Colourgen/Mutoh, Fujifilm, Agfa Graphics, Esko and many more.

As one of the earliest UK pioneers to adopt wide-format flat-bed printing, John E Wright’s investment pattern since those early days of UV-curable production has continued through the years so that it has always been able to take advantage of the newest technologies as and when they become established as quality production processes. A long-established business based in Nottingham, it was founded originally as a specialist supplier of blueprints adding computerised production back in the 1980s.

Some 75 years after the father and founder of the Jet Engine, Sir Frank Whittle, formed his Power Jets Ltd. company in Lutterworth - another company is taking-off with its business. Working out of the same building where the foundation block of the jet aviation industry was born, Pure Point of Sale Ltd. has seen its sales and growth soar in its first five years.

In an exclusive interview with Sign & Digital UK’s Rudi Blackett, Vivid Laminating’s sales director Richard Marlow and export manager Bruce Cozens talk about why they believe the Easymount wide format systems are so popular, trade shows in Europe, America & Brazil, and why they’ve decided to return to Sign & Digital UK in 2015 after a six-year hiatus.

Building on the success of the previous single day event, AXYZ International will be holding two further open days on 5th and 19th November. These will take place at two Royal Air Force museum sites, the first of which is situated near Wolverhampton to accommodate customers from the North and Midlands, and the second in North London to facilitate customers located in the South-East.

While most companies investing in wide-format UV-curable printers are involved primarily in the display sector, Artwork Solutions has always taken its fabrication and print expertise into a different dimension. As a result, the company has made its name as a design-led manufacturer of corporate branding products and services, with its client list predominantly being architects and interior designers who seek innovative and functional solutions that can perform a practical role as well as provide highly aesthetic qualities.

For Watford-based Rocket Graphics, steady expansion and careful, accurate assessment around where its strongest growth areas lie has led to the investment in a new EFI VUTEk GS5000r, supplied and installed by UK distributor CMYUK Digital. This versatile superwide format UV-curable printer now enables the company to extend the work it produces for sites where 5m sizes are beneficial for logistics, installation and end appearance.

JCT Visual Communications has just invested in a Screen Truepress Jet W3200UV to drive the next stage in the company’s development.
