Printer Q&A
What’s having the greatest impact on your business at the moment?
The end of a financial year and the start of another always drums up a vast amount of office branding projects as companies look to spend their allowance on their spaces.
Where do you see the greatest wide-format opportunities?
In moving from a supply only role to a consultative position that offers everything from design conceptualisation through to installation, giving customer a whole package that includes way finding and signage but also large scale, personality filled interior graphics.

What would make your day-to-day operations easier?
More hours in the day and the energy to work them.

Your favourite bit of kit is..?
Although it is far from high tech, we have a real soft spot for our really old Graphtec CE5000-60 610mm cutter as the business was born on the back of this humble piece of kit. We still have it, although it is now dwarfed by our rather large Summa cutters.

What’s the best bit of business advice you’ve been given?
Be the whole shebang! We have taken this and worked it to the very core of our business model. People often contact us for a logo or a simple piece of way finding, which is great, but they don’t realise the full potential for their space. We have therefore expanded our offer from just production to also include consultancy, design, artwork, and installation services.

What are you most proud of achieving?
We are a young team, all under the age of 26, and are an even younger business having only recently celebrating our second birthday. We have achieved so much in a short amount of time; we’ve harnessing our love for design, consultative capabilities and our production prowess and we are proud to have already worked with the likes of Google, Sky, Bafta...

What lesson does the wide-format sector need to learn?
It’s a changed game. Simple signage and humble graphics are old hat, individuals and companies are now looking for top quality, design focused graphic solutions. It is our job to inform and raise the awareness of all that is now possible within this industry, going beyond the limited expectations of our clients and introducing them to untapped creativity that radically transforms spaces.
