Vivid plans expansion

Vivid plans expansion

Just months after opening up shop with an Epson Stylus Pro 11880 Barnsley-based Vivid Display is planning on buying two more printers as it anticipates doubling the size of the operation within the next year. The company, which started trading in February, already deals with about 16 shopping centres across the UK, producing POS materials, window graphics and floor vinyls.

Managing director Peter Wyatt said: "We plan to double the size of the business in the next year. We have already exceeded our expectations for this year and could expand now, but we want to wait until we have completed one whole financial year." The expansion plans include another Stylus Pro 11880 plus a printer for the outdoor market, the make of which is yet to be decided upon.

"Business has been brisk from the very beginning," said Wyatt, who has a background in design and print, especially in large-format graphics. "Having worked extensively in this sector, I could see that there was a ready-made market with ready-made customers."

Vivid bought its current Stylus Pro 11880 from Fastek Graphic Services in Leeds. A feature that particularly impressed Vivid was its colour vibrancy. "The colours are very vibrant, which is very important," said Wyatt. "Reds, oranges, greens - they all come out brilliantly."
