Neschen increases opportunities for latex print

As every reader will almost certainly know, one of the biggest stories in the industry in the past two years or so has been the success of latex printers.
In terms of quality and versatility, water-based latex inks produce similar results to solvent-based inks but are significantly less polluting of the environment, releasing little in the way of volatile organic chemicals, with virtually no odour.
But the best print technologies in the world wouldn't be of any practical use if they weren't harnessed to media that gave PSPs and their customers real benefits.
Neschen is a HP 'Registered Latex Developer' and has progressively introduced specially developed new media specifically to match this exciting ink technology.  Today, these substrates include both monomeric and polymeric vinyls, PVC and polyester displays and even wallpapers and textiles.  Among the many applications that can be met are POP, exhibition and vehicle graphics; street and building advertising, not forgetting commercial and domestic interiors.   Taken together, there are now no less than 25 different materials in Neschen's range from which to choose.  All of which enable the PSP to meet a whole raft of applications using a single printer.

Sarah Janes, managing director of Neschen UK, told us “We worked in close collaboration with HP to develop these print media so we know that not only do they provide high quality finished output, but also they offer versatility in applications.”  The exciting aspect about the development of Neschen's digital wallpapers is that their availability opens up a whole new world of opportunities for the large format printer.  Any retail or other commercial premises can now be fitted-out quickly, easily and cheaply when compared with traditional methods.

Neschen media lends maximum brilliance and depth of colour to printed output from latex printers – black are dense and glossy, whilst colours are intense.  Pictures are pin-sharp as the award-winning interior of this newly-opened restaurant reveal.   Newest among the company's range of digitally-printable textiles is 'VARItex', a polyester fabric made in Germany, shown here in use at a recent overseas motor show.   The company has added a dedicated latex section to its web site at neschen.com where inkjet media for the different HP latex printers are shown.  Neschen also offers a high level of production security with a comprehensive service including advice on all its products and applications.  Neschen customers also enjoy a special free service with downloadable ICC profiles and the Neschen Colour Concept.

The Color Alliance coating, developed by Neschen, provides much better colour properties on digital printed media.  As a result, a lot less ink is applied by inkjet printers to produce the same colour density.  Alternatively, when using the same amount of ink as previously, the colours will look even more brilliant:  the colours appear to have more depth and intensity and therefore cover a much greater colour space.

Perhaps one of the least recognised advantages of latex printers is that the output can be used immediately without PSPs having to wait for drying and outgassing.  Prints dry out inside the printer itself and can be laminated immediately using the full range of Neschen mounting and laminating films which have been tried and tested for use on this type of output.   Worldwide, Neschen supplies printable, coated and enhanced sheet media, such as plastic and paper foils, and textiles for printing service providers.  In Europe, photographers, interior designers, advertising agencies, architects and others all draw on the vast product portfolio for a myriad applications.  In addition, the German coating specialist is particularly well known for its jumbo-size media for large format printing.
