What’s having the greatest impact on your business at the moment?

Increasing costs, decreasing margins. Our competitors are driving down prices, which will inevitably have an impact on our business as it’s hard to put them back up again.

Where do you see the greatest wide-format opportunities?

We have found that most of our success lies in being a one-stop-shop - giving the complete service to our clients - retail fit-outs, commercial fit-outs, POS, hoardings, signage etc all under one roof.

What would make your day-to-day operations easier?

More time! A large amount of our business is now 24-hour turnaround rather than our standard 72-hours, so it’s always great when a client gives us a heads up that work is coming our way!

Your favourite bit of kit is..?

A DYSS cutting table - it’s a massive help with the ever-decreasing turnaround times. Before we purchased the cutter, we hand trimmed all of our foamex, vinyl, paper and card. Now the team can’t remember what life was like without it!

What’s the best bit of business advice you’ve been given?

The best piece of advice that was given to me is to offer the service you are best placed to deliver, and never be afraid to turn down work that’s outside your area of expertise.

What are you most proud of achieving?

I am proud to be called a manufacturer - we produce it here, in our new 1115m2 factory in Pitstone.

What lesson does the wide-format sector need to learn?

You may win work on price, but you win clients and relationships on service.
