BPIF publishes ISO 12647-2 certification requirements

BPIF publishes ISO 12647-2 certification requirements?

The BPIF has published the new ISO 12647-2 certification scheme requirements setting out what printers and print management companies need to do to gain certification against the ISO 12647-2 colour management standard.

The requirements have been drawn up by a working group of the BPIF's Technical Standards Committee, with colour expert Paul Sherfield as chairperson. The objective of the certification scheme is to ensure that 12647-2 certification is not simply an 'MOT' on a particular tested item of print, but that it ensures there is a colour quality management system in place to ensure ongoing consistency and colour quality in compliance with ISO 12647-2. With this approach, the BPIF intends to ensure that certification is accepted as meaningful and credible by the industry's customers.?

The scheme requirements document is available from the BPIF and is priced at ?50 for BPIF members and ?70 for non-members. To order a copy email philip.thompson@bpif.org.uk
