EFI launches Vutek D range

The EFI Connect users’ conference in Las Vegas is being used to launch the Vutek D3r roll-to-roll LED printer. A second printer in the new mid-range line, the Vutek D5r, is already in the field, with Thomas Printworks in the US an early user.
The D3r has a maximum print width of 3.5m and prints at up to 204m2/hr. It will get its European debut at the EFI EMEA Ignite event on 29 January in Brussels, Belgium. The D5r has a maximum print width of 5.2m and prints at up to 285m2/hr. The D3r and D5r build on the Vutek 3r+ and 5r+ printers - both printers include EFI’s Fiery proServer SE digital front end and offer CMYK plus optional white and clear inks (SuperFlex 3M inks are available for manufacturing vehicle wraps and fleet graphics), as well as a Museum print mode. Optional features include inline x-cutters and y-slitters, automatic backlit and block-out printing, media spreaders and motorised winders among others. Users can choose to add a software productivity pack and are able to remotely connect with the printers using a mobile application. “The ‘D’ in the name for these new printers is for ‘Design,’ and they are absolutely designed to offer the right mix of features, productivity and cost to create new opportunities for signage and graphics professionals,” said Ken Hanulec, EFI’s vice president of worldwide marketing.
