Graphene’s Dr Nano Flooring and Dr Metal product lines have been shown in an independent laboratory test (according to ASTM E2180 testing protocols) to provide antimicrobial protection on different surfaces. The coatings - which the company has confirmed can be used in relation to printed graphics on flooring, wallpapers, ceilings etc. - demonstrated exceptional activity against antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
The water-based epoxy coatings block the metabolism of microorganisms by restricting cellular respiration and cell division on surfaces.
“We have developed durable, long-lasting coatings that both efficiently protect surfaces from damage as well as the health of those who touch them,” said Dr Sergey Voskresensky, head of R&D at GrapheneCA.
Graphene has launched an online store offering the antibacterial coatings, which are manufactured in the US.
