EFI has launched a new Vutek Q series of high-speed, roll-to-roll UV LED printers. The 5.2m Vutek Q5r and 3.5m Q3r print at up to 672m2/hr and 558m2/hr respectively.
The new series was introduced at EFI’s Engage virtual users event, where it was announced that the world’s first Vutek Q5r installation was made at Yahav Digital Print last October.

It has exceeded all our expectations in terms of reliability, production speeds, print quality, ink consumption, media utilisation and ease of use. The new printers feature up to nine ink colours (standard CMYK and optional lc, lm, lk, white and clear coat), and incorporate native 7-picolitre printheads using EFI UltraDrop technology and offering resolutions of up to 1,200dpi.
The printers also feature EFI’s ‘Power Tool’ options, including in-line quality inspection, in-line slitting and cutting, roll and tape collection, auto-calibration, automated backlit printing, automated blockout printing and more.

Both printers include EFI’s Fiery proServer Premium digital front end (DFE) with Fiery Fast Rip. The DFE systems also include options such as Fiery Spot Colour, Fiery Colour Profiler Suite and Fiery Colour Verifier.
