Cut-on-demand solution for large-format printers

A heavy-duty substrate sheeter with automatic stacking system is being marketed by manufacturer Inpro as a cost saving and workflow improvement tool for wide-format printers of all shapes and sizes.

For print companies looking for flexibility and lower materials stocks, cutting-on-demand is the answer, claims the company pointing to a worldwide lack of cut-on-demand facilities for properly sized substrates for wide-format print providers. Inpro said with paper, vinyl, self-adhesive and cardboard substrates often easier and more attractively priced on reels it has been developing a cut-on-demand solution for the market that adheres to the following criteria: heavy-duty construction; provide variable cutting-lengths with automatic stacking; have easy, automated non-attended long-run operation; provide easy load and unload of heavy media reels; and meet worldwide safety and service requirements.

The outcome is the Inpro cut-on-demand roll-to-sheet guillotine that cuts over a maximum substrate width of 180cm, can take reels up to 1500kgs, has a maximum cutting speed of approximately 35m/min and has a stacking height up to 40cm.
