Mutoh brings out 64in XPJ-1682WR dye-sub printer

New from Mutoh Europe is the 64in-wide, 8 channel, roll-fed dye-sub XpertJet 1682WR.

The new machine - successor to the ValueJet 1638WX - has been developed for graphics transfer onto all types of polyester coated or polyester based rigids, gadgets and flexible materials.

The XPJ-1682WR has two gold plated piezo variable drop printheads for 4-, 6-, 7- or 8-colour setups.  The piezo print heads are capable of firing drops from 2.8 pl up to 33.9 pl.

There’s a newly developed multi-stage pressure roller system for better media feed stability, and rolls can be easily installed thanks to an enhanced roll-off system and new media flanges. Continuous printing is made possible with the different motorized take-up systems, for rolls weights up to 30, 40 or 100 kg and roll diametres from 150 to 250 mm.

The XPJ-1682WR also integrates Mutoh’s new ‘Media Tracker’ technology that allows the user to print a barcode on the roll of media in use before it is removed from the printer. When reloading the same roll of media, the XPJ-1682WR will read the barcode and will automatically detect how much media is left on the roll.

Available immediately, new printer will be sold exclusively through Mutoh distributors, including Atlantic Services in the UK.
