Fespa has confirmed that the 2022 version of Fespa Global Print Expo will take place in Berlin on 31 May - 3 June.
CEO Neil Felton said the reason for the proximity of the 2022 event to the 2021 show - on 12-15 October 2021 in Amsterdam - is that travel restrictions are likely to prevent potential visitors from attending this year.
The Amsterdam show will run under special Covid safe restrictions. All visitors must pre-register and present proof of a double vaccine or negative test result and entry will by phone presentation of a ticket. Facemasks will be compulsory and the aisles will be wider to meet 1.5m social distancing rules.
The October 2021 event - which is expected to take up 16,000m2 of the RAI and host 300 exhibitors (around 75% of the amount of companies signed-up for the Fespa Madrid show) - will encompass Printeriors and Wrap Masters. A number of other show features will not run, including the Trends Theatre seminars and Sportswear Pro.
Felton has confirmed that the next Fespa Print Census will kick-off in 2022, with the results published later next year or in 2023. He said of the decision not to conduct a poll this year was "because we wanted to wait until markets started to regenerate".
