Acquisitive PFI Group has bought Gardners, one of Europe’s largest large format print manufacturers. The Cardiff-based business - PFI’s first production and service centre based in Wales - will continue to be led by managing director Richard Courtney and the current management team.
The PFI Group has become a powerhouse within the print and visual communication industries, having acquired a number of well-known companies in the industry including Cestrian, PFI GB Signs, Sign Plus, Lofthus Signs, In2 Signs and Graphics, Shades Graphics, Mardan Products, Futurama Group, Insignia Signs, Creative Display, SignMaster, Jasmine, Works Manchester, PFI Speedscreen, Proportion London and Kesslers. The latter two were acquired at the start of this year after going into administration in December 2021. They were part of the Hexcite Group created by Elaghmore in 2019 - the same group that Gardners belonged to.
Gardners boasts an impressive client base, with a particularly strong reputation within the retail, outdoor, fleet and venues and event sectors. The business synergies and combined strengths of Gardners and PFI present “exciting opportunities for ongoing growth and continue to expand the group’s reach within key sectors and geographies,” said a statement.
