MediaCo produces massive photomural to commemorate 100 years at Old Trafford
The advent of Old Trafford's hundredth year as Manchester United's home was recently commemorated with the application of a spectacular photomural as part of year-long celebrations. The 40 x 14m mural was printed and applied by MediaCo, which used Metamark Clear Vision material supplied by grand-format media specialist Vuflex.
The mural which is applied to the frontage of the East Stand and overlooking its huge forecourt, depicts the stadium's evolution from its origins rendered in nostalgic black and white swept in tone and gradation across its width to a full colour portrait illustrating the current stadium as seen from a vantage point overlooking the legendary pitch. ?
The Metamark Clear Vision material features a novel, perforated construction with a black adhesive layer. When applied to the East Stand's glass frontage, the view out from within is preserved and daylight still admitted.?
The mural represents the fifth such execution by MediaCo for Manchester United. Printing and application took the company six days in total and will be cleanly removed.?
