Mimaki announces metallic ink

Designed for use in its JV33 machines and CJV30 print-and-cut units, Mimaki has announced a new metallic ink which can be integrated via a firmware and a RIP update into these existing systems. This formulation, along with a new white ink, is due to ship in October, and will be available via UK sole distributor, Hybrid Services.
At the same time as the metallic ink is released, Mimaki will introduce and start shipment of its new ES3 white ink. This is stated to be particularly good for prints on transparents and coloured substrates which benefit from a white underprint to increase overall vivacity and vibrance.
Metallic effects can be achieved easily using the colour library in Raster Link Pro5. Users can also devise their own or their customers’ colours and metallic shades.
