€6 million investment by 3A Composites for 2 m foamboard production line
3A Composites has opened its new €6 million foamboard production line in Osnabrück, Germany, to enable Kapa lightweight products to be produced in 2 m widths. The new facility’s opening coincided with the company’s 40th anniversary.
Kapa high-performance foamboards are widely used in the visual communication market for indoor signs, advertising and photo campaigns as well as for shop interiors and decoration. Werner confirms that the market for 2 m wide foamboards has shown tremendous growth during the past few years in-line with the increase in use of wide-format printers accommodating this size.
After the acquisition of Alcan Composites last winter, current owner Schweiter Technologies renamed the company to 3A Composites. The new Osnabrück production line includes enhanced health, safety, environment and productivity features and is seen as an important investment for sustainable development.
