HP launches Designjet Z6200 printer

HP has used Photokina to launch the HP Designjet Z6200 printer series which use HP Vivid photo inks to deliver 2,4000dpi images at speeds up to 140m2/hr, which is 50% faster than the predecessor, the Z6100. The range, which will be available as of 1 November, will cost from £8,300 for the 42in model to £14,000 for the 60in version.

Designed for photo labs as well as digital print shops, commercial printers, advertising agencies and design firms, the HP Designjet Z6200’s use of new HP Vivid photo inks offers improved scratch resistance, gloss levels and gloss uniformity and a wider colour gamut with deeper blacks than previous HP inks. According to HP, the eight-colour printing system also features HP Chromatic Red ink, which enables up to 88% Pantone coverage, and greater ink efficiency with the ability to print the same output using up to 44% less ink than preceding HP technologies.

“The HP Designjet Z6200 is a true workhorse, delivering high speed and productivity on every application, including those that demand the best quality,” said Santiago Morera, vice president and general manager, Designjet large-format printing solutions, imaging and printing Group, HP.
