Tay-Cad makes massive savings with HP latex printers

Shetland-based Tay-Cad has saved over 300 man-hours in printer cleaning time alone since installing two HP Designjet L25500 latex machines last year. Managing director Mark Fuller said the 60in wide unit installed last March, together with a 42in machine installed in July, were not only enabling the company to provide a greater range of graphics to an extended customer base, but were saving significant amounts of time and money.

“Because the printers start-up quickly we’ve seen electricity bills fall, we’ve made waste savings thanks to the calibration of the machines and the unattended print capability and low-level maintenance required means we can run with fewer staff,” enthused Fuller.

The company, which takes 90% of its business from the Shetland Islands, has been expanding it’s print scope with the two latex machines, producing everything from high-end exhibition work to bespoke consumer jobs.
