BAF Graphics wins contract for graphics at MediaCityUK

BAF Graphics has won the visual communications contract for the BBC’s new offices at MediaCityUK, Salford Quays. Working in conjunction with fit-out specialist Overbury, BAF will produce and install all graphical and visual communication elements required for the offices which over three buildings with a total of 20 floors. The graphics will cover both wall and glass panelling areas within the office space.

“As you can imagine, the last six months since we have been involved in the tendering process for this extensive project have been fairly tense,” said Antony Baglioni, business development director at BAF Graphics. “Having come through a rigorous appraisal process, winning a contract of this prestige endorses our commitment to projects of this scale.” 

Paul Hulme at Overbury added: “BAF proved that it fully understood the project’s needs, which was made apparent in the sample work produced during the tendering process.”

The project is being headed up by BAF’s Chris Holland, who was instrumental in winning the contract and will now project manage the execution of production and installation. The work is due to commence immediately and scheduled to be complete in May 2011.

The BBC is relocating staff from its London and Manchester offices to MediaCityUK. As well as BBC Sport, BBC Children’s, BBC Learning and BBC Radio 5 live, the campus site will also be the new home for various other BBC departments including entertainment and comedy, religion and ethics, future media, marketing and audiences and the BBC Philharmonic.
