3M performance warranty to support HP printers
In a collaborative initiative between 3M and HP, selective HP latex printers will now have the support of the 3M MCS (Matched Component System) warranty. Under the warranty, print producers certified by 3M to offer the MCS support facility will be able to guarantee the performance of graphics against failure for up to five years. This guarantee is contingent upon the use of HP/3M speciality inks, 3M media and the adoption of 3M recommended application procedures.
Central to this new initiative has been the development of the HP/3M co-branded speciality LX600 inks. These are the only inks that carry the 3M MCS warranty and are based on the patented HP latex ink technology. They will be used as part of the 3M MCS warranty offering on the HP Scitex LX600 and LX800 and the HP Designjet L65500 printers. The inks are designed for use on a wide range of 3M recommended media, including opaque, translucent and reflective formats.
