Advanced job planning and imposition module Metrix SE is now available from Screen for users of its Trueflow SE PDF workflow system. The Screen Edition of Metrix SE is specially adapted version of LithoTechnics' product that features enhanced JDF connectivity with Trueflow SE.
Running under both Windows and Mac OS X operating systems, Metrix SE is an intelligent automated layout calculator, generating optimised job plans and JDF-based imposition data directly to Trueflow for processing. Metrix SE performs the job planning and imposition simultaneously, automatically, and dynamically and can handle flat, folded, and/or bound products as individual jobs or in any combination for ganged layouts. The system can also integrate with front-end MIS systems and operates in 'real-time', re-creating layouts on-the-fly to accommodate changes to job run-length, press and/or finishing.
As a result, Metrix SE increases productivity for commercial printers by saving time, reducing costs by integrating imposition and planning into a single module, and eliminating planning/imposition-induced errors.
