Vision Signs push creative boundaries to limit

Vision Signs, based in Walkinstown, Dublin 20, is a sign company making a name in the marketplace recently for building custom bespoke promotional items to create a 'wow' factor for clients at a low cost. Its latest venture, a giant beer jug, has caused bemused motorists to rub their eyes in disbelief as they drive pass it on the Walkinstown roundabout.
Aaron O'Grady, managing director, said: "Although Vision Signs is a general signage company our main area of expertise has been vehicle wraps up to now. However, this year we have broadened our portfolio by taking on special and unusual projects for clients." The recent request from a publican to produce some promotional posters to advertise an offer of ?8 for a jug of beer is one such example.

"We suggested an alternative which we felt would give the client far greater value for money," said O'Grady. "The result was a large-scale replica of the product created out of a wooden frame and plastic and then wrapped in the finished print. The client was delighted with the result and it's an example of using high resolution printing to create a very realistic effect."

The profile of Vision Signs really hit the radar map earlier this year when it was commissioned to make giant phones for the Meteor Music awards. "All we had to work from was a real Noika phone, which we measured, took apart and used to scale up a large two metre tall model," continued O'Grady. "It pushed our creative boundaries to the absolute limit!"
