GMG and Barbieri have linked up to provide color management solutions for the large-format market. GMG has also introduced a new DotProof XG module for wide-format producers.

Under its agreement with Barbieri, GMG is to bundle its own ColorServer 4.6 with Barbieri's Spectro LFP RT spectrophotometer to meet the demands of inkjet printing on every media, including specials like backlit film, fabrics, silk, plastic, wood and ceramics. The most important features of the spectrophotometer are: automatic transmissive and reflective measurements in one device; a switchable measuring aperture (2mm and 6mm); and special optics for UV printer requirements.

On the proofing front the new GMG DotProof XG module now enables users to exploit the expanded color gamut of the Epson Stylus Pro x900 and HP Designjet Z3200 multicolor printers by allowing far more spot colors to be simulated in a halftone proof. 

At Print 09 GMG also presented SmartProfiler, a user-friendly solution which allows you to calibrate and profile different output devices - including large-format systems - easily and without profound knowledge of colour management. The software is aimed at those wanting to create their own profiles and/or calibrate output devices, or who work according to in-house standards.
