Print 09 sees EFI workflow additions
Print 09 has seen EFI make a number of announcements including integrated support for JDF workflows as standard on its Fiery servers via new Fiery 9 software. It also announced a Web Control Center that connects monitors and controls proofing and printing across remote sites and introduced a PrintFlow Web module for its scheduling system.
On the JDF front EFI has been working closely with print engine and software companies to enable end-to-end integrated workflows. Working with Canon and Agfa Graphics, EFI has completed testing to ensure the JDF-driven workflow solutions from Canon and Agfa integrate with Fiery technology. In particular, enhancements have been made to the DigitalPrint Link sold by Agfa Graphics, bringing tighter integration with Canon engines powered by Fiery servers and Agfa's :Apogee Suite.
The new Web Control Center uses JDF communications to interact with Fiery Rip solutions (EFI Colorproof XF and Fiery XF v4.0) at any location via EFI web hosting capabilities. It uses EFI technology to combine colour measurement, distribution and communications, resulting in real-time accurate data combined with two-way colour management communications.
The EFI PrintFlow Web is available as a component of the EFI Monarch and EFI Pace MIS solutions.
