Alliance Packaging takes Nozomi C18000

Alliance Packaging in the US has bought a six-colour EFI Nozomi C18000 single-pass 1.8m wide corrugated packaging printer for its Seattle HQ. Once installation is completed in May the company hopes it will help it provide customers with new capabilities that will reduce waste, cost and turnaround time.
Scott Younger, president of the second-generation, family-owned 500-employee business, said: “We are excited about this press because it is the only digital press available today that allows us to double-down on our strategy of short lead times mixed with high-end graphics.” Alliance Packaging currently handles high volumes of litho-lamination production on boxes and corrugated displays. The Nozomi will allow it to migrate much of that work to direct-to-board digital printing produced in the exact quantities required. It is also expected to open doors to offerings that are too costly to produce with analogue methods, such as targeted, versioned or multi-SKU retail packaging.
