Witham, Essex-based IDL Colourlink has become the first UK customer for EFI’s Vutek h5 3.2m hybrid wide format printer that was launched at Fespa.

Mimaki Engineering has announced that it will showcase its broad portfolio of cutting-edge digital print technologies at ITMA 2019 (20-26 June 2019, Fira de Barcelona, Spain). This will include the first global showing of a brand-new hybrid digital textile printer, uniquely featuring both direct-to-textile and direct-to-transfer print capabilities.

An innovation from Avery Dennison that enables closed-loop PET recycling has won this year’s FINAT Recycling and Sustainability award. The CleanFlake portfolio enables production of high quality recycled PET (rPET) from post-consumer bottles while maintaining all-important visual impact and food contact approval.

The first swissQprint roll to roll printer premièred at Fespa 2019 and was at the same time honoured by the EDP Awards in the "roll to roll printer >320 cm" category.

The Printing Charity helped 1,737 people in 2018, an increase of 34% on the previous year. The figure was announced by the charity’s chairman Jon Wright at its 192nd Annual General Meeting.

Fespa Global Print Expo 2019 attracted 20,780 individual visitors from 137 countries over the four day show in May at Messe Munchen. Total attendance including repeat visits reached 34,104, with almost two thirds of all visitors committing two or more days to the show.

Barberan, in collaboration with ZeeTree, has developed a digital printing technology to deliver embossed materials effects for the furniture and flooring industry.  

New from Perspex Distribution is Palboard, a multi-layered PVC sheet with a recycled foam PVC core. The manufacturer, Palram, has produced CNC templates - including trays, birdhouses and tables - to inspire users to get creative with the material.
