Northern Flags re-establishes textile print operation in UK
Northern Flags has re-established a UK large-format print and finishing operation after an eight-year hiatus. The Leeds-based company - the UK arm of Europe’s largest printed fabrics supplier Faber Vlaggen - had moved all of its production to the group’s specialist digital and screen facilities in Poland and Thailand to capitalise on lower production costs. “Speed and agility to meet client demands brought us back to the UK,” explained managing director Iain Clasper-Cotte.

Digital sector needs to focus on soft skills says report
A report into management in the digital sector has revealed that 57% of managers feel that the industry is suffering due to too much focus on hard skills. The research, by digital recruitment agency, The Candidate, found that 69% per cent of digital managers feel soft skills are overlooked.

2400 x 1200dpi at 17.5m2/hr with new Epson SC-P20000
Hard on the heels of its new SureColor SC-S series printers Epson has now announced the latest addition to the SureColor SC-P series, the 64in wide SC-P20000. With a permanent PrecisionCore MicroTFP printhead it is said to be able to produce print at up to 2400 x 1200dpi, even at the highest print speed of 17.5m2/hr. It will be shown at Fespa Digital in March and be commercially available the same month.

An EFI Cut Server Option for Fiery proServer and Fiery XF digital front ends is now available from SAi. It means users of the Fiery workflow solutions can now have a fully integrated end-to-end print-and-cut workflow.
