Buyer still sought for GAE

GAE is continuing to trade as a buyer for the Litho Supplies business is sought. Philip Duffy and David Whitehouse of MCR were appointed joint administrators of the finishing systems company on 5 January 2010. GAE has an estimated annual turnover of ?5.88m and employs around 40 staff.

Ex-Andersons man starts up Digital Print Innovations

Former Andersons national sales manager Stewart Bell has launched a new company called Digital Print Innovations (DPI) to sell printers, inks, consumables, software and service to wide-format print producers in the UK and Ireland. The news comes as the industry awaits confirmation of the sale of Graphica Plus (trading as Andersons), a subsidiary of Litho Supplies which went into receivership in December.

New features for Sign and Digital UK 2010?

Apple will be returning to Sign and Digital UK along with Corel and Adobe to present seminars in 2010. The announcement comes on top of confirmation that there will be two new visitor attractions at this year's show in the shape of a Demo Theatre and Software Theatre, details of which are to be released closer to the show.

Epson has moved

After 20 years on Maylands Avenue in Hemel Hempstead, Epson has moved a short distance to Apsley, which is now home to over 250 Epson UK and Epson Europe staff. The site has a larger demonstration area and better facilities for the company's Print Academy.

New 3M films for more vibrant window graphics

To help you create eye-catching graphics on glass 3M has introduced another two translucent films. Scotchcal 5525 SE-314 Haze and 3M Scotchcal 5525 SE-324 Sandblast can be used to create the appearance of etched or sandblasted glass.

Victory announces 2010 vehicle wrap course dates

Victory Design has announced dates for its 'Want to be a wrap star' vehicle wrap courses. Courses will run on 3 February and 7 April at the company's premises near Chesterfield, Derbyshire.

Fujifilm opens European support centre for XMF workflow

Fujifilm has opened a European support centre for its XMF cross-media workflow at its UK headquarters in Bedford. The centre will provide guidance on workflow issues and technical support for the XMF workflow portfolio. There are other such centres in North America and Asia, with all regional teams working with a newly formed Fujifilm support centre in Tokyo created as an extension to the R&D software development division.

JV5-320DS direct and dye sub production printer joins Mimaki line-up

Expect to see the first units of Mimaki's new 3.2m-wide direct to textile JV5-320DS printer by early February. The machine, based on the existing JV5-320S solvent printer, enables high speed, direct printing onto polyester substrates and provides a water-based dye-sublimation option.

Inca Spyder leads digital expansion at Kremer

Newbury-based Kremer Signs, a supplier of signage to the property market, has bought a second eight-colour Inca Spyder just 18 months after installing the first which took it into digital print. Together the digital capability of both printers is expected to help boost the company's ?4m turnover by 12% this year alone.
