Perspex Distribution appointed a new branch manager at the Weybridge branch. Neil Sole, who has 16 years’ experience in the print and display sector, is tasked with further developing Perspex Distributions’ newest branch which opened in early 2012, servicing a growing customer base in the South of England.

Four ‘Conform Chrome’ materials (Chrome Silver, Chrome Black, Chrome Gold and Chrome Blue) have been added to the range, and six satin films are now included in the portfolio - black, white, khaki green, awesome orchid, carmine red and bubblegum pink. The latter give medium-lustre finishes, with both matte and gloss characteristics and the appearance of satin paint.

Global Inkjet Systems (GIS), the developer of software, drivers, firmware and electronics for industrial inkjet printheads, can now support the new Xaar 1002 printhead range. It has designed a new Head Interface Board (HIB-XR-1002) to drive the Xaar 1002 printhead, without the need for the Xaar HPC. The HIB connects directly to the Xaar 1002 printhead and is designed to drive the printhead to full specification.

Trevor Elworthy, founder and chief innovation officer of LumeJet, will be giving the talk ‘Inkless Printing - New Applications for Photonic Imaging Technology’ at the next St Bride Print Networking Club meeting on Monday 30 June.  The meeting will take place in the Bar at St Bride Foundation, Bride Lane, Fleet Street, London, with proceeds from the bar going to the foundation.

Lincoln-based Venture Signs and Graphics has installed an Epson SureColor SC-S30600 printer to bring more of its wide-format print work in-house. The company bought the printer from SMGG, the commercial graphics division of Stanford Marsh Group.

Agfa Graphics has confirmed that its appointment as an Adobe gold solution partner has been extended and that it continues to be a member of the Adobe Partner Connection. It is expected that both the Apogee and Asanti workflow software teams will benefit from the continued alliance.

Hybrid Services has appointed Stuart Cole to the newly created post of national sales manager – industrial products. It will be his responsibility to develop this market, where Hybrid markets Mimaki’s flatbed and roll-to-roll LED UV printers. John de la Roche becomes national sales manager – sign and graphics, with similar responsibilities for Mimaki’s solvent printers, cutting plotters and the new generation of SUV and latex printers.

Fespa will run a Digital Textile Conference on 2 October in Milan, which will explore printing for interiors as well as fashion. The one-day event has been developed to provide insight into the future direction of textile printing, and how to embed it into your business. Details will follow.
