OKI to launch oversize A3 toner printer for POS signage

OKI Printing Solutions is targeting the point-of-sale signage and pay-for-print markets with its ES9410 printer launching at Ipex. "We believe this solution will be attractive to small digital print providers where it can be used for posters, short-run production printing, proofing etc." said senior product marketing manager, Alan McLeish.

William Smith expands sign making materials range

William Smith has added three new media to its range: Contra Vision Performance see-through films; the 3M DI-NOC Carbon Fibre film, for vehicle personalisation; and the Pearlescent and Gemstone Metallic films from Ritrama.

Cut-to-print newcomer from AXYZ

CNC routing and engraving equipment manufacturer AXYZ International will use Ipex to show its latest cut-to-print solution. This is based on the AXYZ Intelligent Cutting System (ICS) and the new tangential oscillating knife that can be fitted to any standard AXYZ router to provide a cut-to-print solution without the need to invest in separate dedicated cutting equipment. The system will accommodate flexible or semi-rigid substrates such as foamed board, corrugated plastic and cardboard used in digital printing applications as well as traditional sign-making materials like acrylic, PVC, aluminium and aluminium composite material (ACM) and medium-density fibreboard (MDF).

Seal upgrade could net up to ?2,000 discount

Colourgen has launched a loyalty discount promotion for customers wishing to upgrade an old Seal laminator to a newer model. The offer ranges from ?700 discount for the Seal 44in Ultra Plus through to ?2,000 for a Seal 600MD and runs until 31 May.

Hexis expands vehicle wrapping film offering

Hexis has added three new colours with matt finish its range of HX30000 Series Effect Films specially designed for vehicle wrapping and decorating designer objects (mobile phones, laptops, furniture etc.). Like the other films in the range, the new Military Green Matt HX30VMIM, White Matt HX30002M and Black Matt HX30NPRM are made of a multi-layered cast PVC and a repositionable liner with Hex'Press adhesive technology to ensure easy and convent elimination of creases or trapped air bubbles. They are available in rolls 54in wide (137cm) and 30m long.

GTMS looks to used kit market for growth path

GTMS has bought a used Vutek UV flatbed printer and a Kongsburg CNC cutter to improve efficiency and develop new business. The company is currently trialing a new plywood-based material for hoardings on the Vutek, which also provides a 3m x 2m sheet print capability.

Flag firm MD meets Everest challenge

Hampshire Flag's managing director Graham Wilkinson has completed a tough two-week trek to the base camp of Mount Everest. Wilkinson, who braved temperatures of -20 and battled with altitude sickness during the expedition, stayed true to his flag manufacturing roots by taking with him a digital printed flag emblazoned with the Hampshire Flag logo.

Claiming to have sold over 85% of the HP L65500 latex printers in the UK this year, City and West End Solutions is hoping to repeat its success with the smaller HP Designjet L25500 machine which will be the focus of its stand at Sign and Digital UK in April.?"Sign and Digital is the ideal showcase for the 60in and 42in L25500 models," said Doug Gilbertson, City and West End managing director. DCP sees wide-format growth in photo sector?

At the recent photography show Focus on Imaging DCP Systems took nearly 50 orders for printers from Epson and HP, almost twice the amount of the previous year. Orders ranged from the A3 desktop Epson printers to the 42in HP latex Designjet L25500 printer.?

DPI adds Virtu RR50 to its offering

The superwide Virtu RR50 UV-curable roll-to-roll inkjet printer from WP Digital is now available in the UK and Ireland from Digital Print Innovations (DPI). With the ability to print on a wide range of materials up to 5m wide at speeds up to 320m2/hr and with a 1200dpi resolution, the printer is expected to attract many looking at moving into digital, especially those from the screen print sector according to Stewart Bell, managing director of DPI.
