Eventureworks takes second Roland VersaArt RE-640
Eventureworks has begun running its second Roland VersaArt RE-640 wide-format printer, bought via Quality Print Services (QPS) at Sign and Digital UK.
Fespa Digital hits new record
Fespa Digital hit a new record in Munich last week, attracting 16,766 unique visitors, a 30% increase over Fespa Digital 2011 in Hamburg, the previous best. 49% of all visitors returned to the event for more than one day (40% in Hamburg), bringing the total attendance to 24,954 visits.
Dry adhesive film from Lintec
Visitors to the Lintec Graphic Films stand at Fespa Digital 2014 stand could see a new lightweight, dry apply film called RePop designed to replace traditional ‘cling’ PVC window film. RePop is a non-PVC dry adhesive, 50-micron polyester film with a paper release liner making it suitable for digital or screen print.

Chinese inkjet printer manufacturers Flora Digital Printing Systems and HandTop are looking for UK distributors for their large-format machines.
imageData buys world’s first Inca Onset R40i
Fujifilm has taken its first order for an Inca Onset R40i, which was officially launched at Fespa Digital. The order was placed by the UK’s imageData Group at the event, which has also seen Caravan Industries sign for a second Inca Onset - a six-colour (CMYK plus Lc and Lm) Onset S40i with three-quarter automation.
MTEX extends its textiles solutions
MTEX Solutions has launched various new products into the textile printing space at Fespa Digital, including the MTEX Pad, MTEX 5032 Pro and MTEX W&D. The intention is for the company to be able to offer complete turnkey solutions those printing onto textiles in signage, interiors or fashion.
Durst adds to its printer offering
German company Onlineprinters has bought the first Durst Rho 312R 3.2m roll-to-roll printer, launched at Fespa Digital, where the Austrian manufacturer also introduced the Rho P10 200/250 HS hybrid printers, Rho 1300 Series UV flatbeds and Rhotex HS sift signage printer.
Gandy shows off new UV printer models
The first public showing of Gandy Digital’s SL8TE hybrid and flatbed entry-level UV inkjet printers has taken place at Fespa Digital.
Canon and Fuji launch volume flatbed for sign and display market
Canon has unveiled the Océ Arizona 6100 Series, a new Arizona platform designed for sign and display print providers producing over 30,000m² of printed rigid media per year. There are two printers - the six-colour Océ Arizona 6160 XTS, and the seven-colour Océ Arizona 6170 XTS. The unit is also sold as the rebadged Acuity F Series by Fujifilm.
EFI firsts line up
EFI used Fespa Digital to introduce its UltraDrop 7pl greyscale printhead technology on its Vutek GS series printers. At the event, where long-term customer Escher and Theiss Digitaldruck signed for a Vutek GS3250lx Pro 3.2m printer with LED cool curing and this new UltraDrop technology, EFI also announced that energy assessments carried out by Fogra have confirmed that Vutek wide-format printers with LED curing show energy reductions of up to 82% when compared with devices that use conventional mercury arc lamps. Fespa Digital also provided the European debut of the EFI H1625 LED printer, the first LED device in the company’s entry-level line-up, and of the EFI Vutek GS3250lxr Pro roll-fed printer. Plus there was the worldwide premiere of EFI Fiery proServer Version 6, a scalable digital front-end workflow.
PressOn and Raccoon win Fespa accolades
The Fespa 2014 Awards winners were announced at a celebration dinner in Munich last night, with prizes for the UK’s PressOn and Raccoon London. The awards attracted entries from across 24 countries. The list of winners is as follows:

Northern Flags raises the banner bar
