LFP colour measurement system sees improvements

The Spectro LFP RT spectrophotometer for colour measurement in digital large-format flatbed and industrial printing has been seen a number of improvements with the release of Series 3.?Notable upgrades include: a switchable measuring aperture of 8, 6 and 2mm; polarisation filter for 8, 6 and 2mm aperture; and an electrostatic sample holder.?

Free entry to the Profit Zone at Ipex

Each day of Ipex visitors will be able to attend free seminars on the main issues, threats and opportunities facing the printing industry. They will be held within the Printers' Profit Zone in hall 9 (stand F333) and focus on topics flagged up by the findings of the Ipex Global Print Survey.

See Gerber print-and-cut offering in Munich

Gerber Scientific Products will demonstrate its new Solara ionZ wide-format cationic UV printer at Fespa 2010, where it will also be running new M Turbo flatbed cutting system that works in conjunction with this printer (and others) to create a precise, fast print-to-cut solution. ?Visitors to the Gerber stand will have the opportunity to the two machines working together and independently.?

Madico and Roland demonstrate label opportunities at Ipex

Madico Graphic Films and Roland DG will work together at Ipex to showcase label application opportunities. The duo will demonstrate Madico label substrates running on the new Roland VersaUV LEC-330 inkjet printer/cutter to highlight short-run print capabilities.

Z?nd makes waves

The Z?nd Cut Center software will be one of the innovations being demonstrated at Fespa 2010. The new software is tailored specifically for the G3 and designed to maximise the productivity of the company's latest generation of multifunctional digital cutting systems. At the show Z?nd Cut Center software will be driving a G3 L-2500 with semi-automated board handling as well as a G3 3XL-1600 configured for 3.2m wide roll materials. A Zund M-800 will also be shown with fully automated sheet feeding as the ideal setup for cutting screen-printed decals and other smaller-format applications.?

Anapurna M-series G2 inks improve flexibility

A new formulation of inks for the Anapurna M-series of hybrid printers has been introduced which Agfa says will improve flexibility on a wide range of materials. This UV-curable formulation, designated G2 UV, will be incorporated into all new Anapurna M machines from Q4, with upgrades available for existing models.

IGS UK to launch green printing systems at Fespa

UK-based distributor IGS UK is planning to introduce what it's calling "a completely new, modestly priced, eco-friendly range of printers" at Fespa 2010. Details are being kept under wraps until the show, but the company said "the new family of machines will encompass popular widths and be suitable for applications onto coated and uncoated materials, with additional models already in the pipeline."

Northprint 2011 dates announced

Northprint will return to the Harrogate International Centre on 10-12 May 2011 despite having lost its glitter when it last ran in 2009.

Consumables suppliers see a chance to shine at Fespa 2010

Almost a third of exhibitors at Fespa 2010 will be showing substrates and/or inks, with many consumables manufacturers and suppliers present in their own right, including major players such as 3M, Avery Dennison, MACtac and Orafol. As a result, the range of creative applications achievable with increasingly diverse and inventive consumables will be much in evidence throughout the show halls.

Shiraz upgrades large-format offerings

In a move that consolidates a number of recent advances to its multi-functional Rips, Shiraz Software has announced a raft of upgrades in new versions of its key software platforms for large-format output.

All visitors to the BAPC stand (hall 9, F315) at Ipex will be able to take advantage of a special two-for-one offer to attend the annual BAPC Conference which will take place at The Marriott Hotel, Waltham Abbey over the weekend of 5 November.

Ipex sees new inks from Agfa

Agfa Graphics will use Ipex to demonstrate its new Agora ink product family that comprises two new ink lines for the next generation single pass, piezo printheads. Compatible with major inkjet head suppliers such as the Kyocera KJ4A, both ink lines offer photo-quality resolution at very fast speeds.

Xennia sets out its industrial inkjet printing stall

At Ipex Xennia will launch a range of industrial-strength inkjet modules for OEM product integration. It will showcase these XenJet modules configured into two printing systems including the Xennia Sapphire, a six-colour 70cm x 140cm flatbed capable of printing at over 1000dpi. The unit has been designed for high quality full colour batch printing applications such as decorating glass, laminates, ceramic tiles and other products.

European Sign Summit to be held at Fespa 2010

Fespa has now published details of its European Sign Summit 2010 which is being co-hosted with the European Sign Federation (ESF) during Fespa 2010 in Munich in June. Part of the Fespa Innovate! programme, the European Sign Summit will take place on site at Messe Munich on Wednesday 23 June 2010 from 11am until 6.30pm.?
