More sign up to Wide-Format Applications Showcase at Northprint

Roland, Vivid Laminating, PSP and EFI are amongst those companies that will be working on the new Wide-Format Applications Showcase at Northprint in association with Image Reports. The intention is to provide visitors with a great opportunity to explore the technical advances, increased revenue benefits and applications achievable with wide-format technology.

Richmond Capital Partners has introduced a new service called Contour Business Finance for the print sector. Its aim is to provide funding support for mergers and acquisitions, MBO’s, property, working capital and for investment in plant and machinery.

Marabu uses Fespa Digital to show off new ink

At the Fespa Digital show in Hamburg in May print ink specialst Marabu will introduce a number of new formulations, including MaraJet DI-MS, a mild solvent base ink for Mimaki JV33 large-format printers. Also new will be the UV-curable UltraJet DUV-H for strong adhesion onto rigid and flexible media. The family comprises CcYMmK and a white.

Free finishing consultancy from Solent 

Solent Sewing and Welding will be launching two finishing devices for sign and banner producers at Sign and Digital this year: the Miller Weldmaster 112 Extreme and Impulse Extreme with automatic folding device. The company is also offering showgoers a free on-site consultancy service: How to maximise speed, profit and quality in finishing in the sign and banner market.

Epson out in force at Sign and Digital UK 2011

Epson and its strategic sales partners will showcase a range of aqueous and solvent inkjet printers at Sign and Digital UK 2011. Between them, CWE Solutions, Graphic Printing Technologies and Spandex will all exhibit models from Epson’s roll-fed range, including the 64in Epson Stylus Pro GS6000 eco-solvent type printer and the 64in aqueous inkjet Epson Stylus Pro11880 and 44in Epson Stylus Pro 9700 printers.

Neolt appoints Color Confidence as master UK distributor

Italian manufacturer Neolt has appointed Color Confidence as master distributor for its printing products in the UK. At the centre of the Neolt offering will be the AsterJet and X-Jet machines, both of which will be demonstrated at Sign and Digital UK next month.

Agfa newcomers to be shown at Sign and Digital UK

Agfa Graphics will launch two new printers at Sign and Digital. This will be the first showing of the Anapurna M1600 UV printer and the Jeti 1224 HDC FTR (high definition colour / flat-to-roll) high-productivity UV inkjet printer will make its European debut.

Small business group refutes claim that scrapping VAT tax relief would ‘hit small firms hardest’

The Forum of Private Business is refuting a claim that closing the controversial Low Value Consignment Relief (LVCR) VAT loophole would hit small firms hardest. It believes that removing the tax avoidance scheme, which benefits many large companies by allowing them to move off-shore in order to pay no VAT on goods valued at up to £18, is long overdue and could stimulate a resurgence of small high street traders.

Called i-Sub Digital Solutions, the aim of this new company is to assist companies in the digital wide-format and display sectors to extend and maximise the opportunities. To that end it will provide software from the likes of EFI that cover key business areas including costing, pre-flighting, remote estimating, e-commerce, workflow and production organisation.
