Fujifilm launches WonderTack at Sign and Digital UK

Sign and Digital UK will see Fujifilm's introduction of WonderTack - a solvent printable, white satin gloss polypropylene film that adheres to smooth, flat surfaces without the use of adhesive. This latest addition to Fujifilm's euromedia range of flexible media for large-format printing is easily repositionable and reusable. In addition, the film is also available for UV-curing and water-based systems.

Direct Disperse inks from Mutoh

Mutoh Europe has developed a water-based Direct Disperse four-colour ink set specifically for its direct-to-fabric Viper TX and Viper TX Extreme series printers. The fast drying inks, said to offer an excellent colour gamut and nozzle stability, allow direct printing onto polyester fabric without the need for washing and are aimed at the volume production of soft signage and double-sided flags.

Cut-on-demand solution for large-format printers

A heavy-duty substrate sheeter with automatic stacking system is being marketed by manufacturer Inpro as a cost saving and workflow improvement tool for wide-format printers of all shapes and sizes.

HP invites you to exclusive product preview

HP is holding an exclusive new products preview at its Barcelona demonstration centre on 28 and 29 April. The event will include seminars and demonstrations of the HP Scitex product range, which covers industrial roll-to-roll machines, flatbed and hybrid printers, with a choice of solvent, UV-curable, aqueous and latex ink technologies. HP will cover all expenses (including accommodation, airport transfers and entertainment) with the exception of the flights to/from Barcelona. Canon improves colour gamut with new imagePrograf models

Canon has launched three new imagePrograf large-format printers - the 24in iPF6350 and iPF6300 and the 44in Canon iPF8300. The new models, which use Canon's new 12-colour Lucia Ex pigment ink system, are said to deliver a colour gamut that is approximately 20% wider than the previous Canon series of fine art LFPs. They also have a broader compatibility with third party Rips, media and scanning solutions.

BPIF warning on back of survey showing stabilisation

The ability to raise prices, hold labour costs down and keep raw materials costs in check will be key to continued business improvement within the print sector according to BPIF corporate affairs director Andrew Brown. The warning comes on the back of the association's latest Printing Outlook survey which showed that 47% of respondents (from across the print spectrum) reported stable trading conditions in the winter period (December to February) but, that 37% reported a weakening in the state of trade. However, the results were more positive than those forecasted three months ago.

OKI to launch oversize A3 toner printer for POS signage

OKI Printing Solutions is targeting the point-of-sale signage and pay-for-print markets with its ES9410 printer launching at Ipex. "We believe this solution will be attractive to small digital print providers where it can be used for posters, short-run production printing, proofing etc." said senior product marketing manager, Alan McLeish.

Cut-to-print newcomer from AXYZ

CNC routing and engraving equipment manufacturer AXYZ International will use Ipex to show its latest cut-to-print solution. This is based on the AXYZ Intelligent Cutting System (ICS) and the new tangential oscillating knife that can be fitted to any standard AXYZ router to provide a cut-to-print solution without the need to invest in separate dedicated cutting equipment. The system will accommodate flexible or semi-rigid substrates such as foamed board, corrugated plastic and cardboard used in digital printing applications as well as traditional sign-making materials like acrylic, PVC, aluminium and aluminium composite material (ACM) and medium-density fibreboard (MDF).

Seal upgrade could net up to ?2,000 discount

Colourgen has launched a loyalty discount promotion for customers wishing to upgrade an old Seal laminator to a newer model. The offer ranges from ?700 discount for the Seal 44in Ultra Plus through to ?2,000 for a Seal 600MD and runs until 31 May.

Hexis expands vehicle wrapping film offering

Hexis has added three new colours with matt finish its range of HX30000 Series Effect Films specially designed for vehicle wrapping and decorating designer objects (mobile phones, laptops, furniture etc.). Like the other films in the range, the new Military Green Matt HX30VMIM, White Matt HX30002M and Black Matt HX30NPRM are made of a multi-layered cast PVC and a repositionable liner with Hex'Press adhesive technology to ensure easy and convent elimination of creases or trapped air bubbles. They are available in rolls 54in wide (137cm) and 30m long.
