As a company that has invested over £750k in the last 12 months, PS2 Print has developed from a repro print and design business to a company that can fulfil virtually all print demands. Since its inception in 1995, the Runcorn based company has rapidly evolved with its latest diversification being to enter the large format print sector.

Arlon’s Series 5400 etched glass calendered film is now available from William Smith. It is a  silver, intermediate vinyl with pressure sensitive adhesive that can be used for internal or external applications. It comes with up to a five-year indoor durability and three-year outdoor durability guarantee.

The Microprint inkjet capsule filter has been added to the Inprinta range. It has been designed to ensure excellent particle retention through the use of pleated polymer filter packs. The company said that this, together with a porous polypropylene core, enables the capsule filter to provide an impermeable barrier to foreign particles.

Agfa’s Apogee StoreFront 2.0 Cloud-based Web-to-print solution is now available and features support for variable data processing. Apogee StoreFront, which won the EDP’s ‘Best Web-to-print solution’ this year, has personalised address books and support for custom domain names.

Hull display specialist RMC Digital has taken delivery of its third printer in three years. The latest machine is an EFI Vutek GS3250LX 3.2m flatbed and roll-fed machine that incorporates 'cool cure' LED curing.

Bullseye hit the target with move into digital print and finishing, supported by CWE Solutions. If there was a trophy to be awarded for successful diversification into large format print and finishing, Bullseye would be printing their own name on it.

Digital Wordcrafts has extended its print room with a new Mimaki JV5-320S 3.2m-wide solvent printer from i-Sub Digital, giving the Leicester-based company the extra width and capacity required to handle larger work.

New from William Smith is Arlon’s vehicle colour change film, Performance Plus Series 4600LX. It comes in eight gloss and three metallic colours as well as matt black. Arlon’s LX airflow adhesive technology, a repositionable air release adhesive, is said to make the film very easy to apply. This single layer cast film offers up to five years durability.

HP has announced a licensing agreement for large-format printed media with Brand Management Group (BMG), a subsidiary of S-One Holdings Corp., to improve product availability, distribution and service quality for HP-branded graphics and technical media used with HP Designjet Z-series and T-series aqueous ink printers.

When it relocated, Bolton at Home (a non-profit company that oversees the local council’s 18,000 homes), enlisted designer Stella Corrall to ensure that the interior design reflected the vision and aspirations of the organisation which plans to deliver £124 million of improvements to homes and estates in Bolton over the next five years. The result was a graphics treatment based on Lintec Graphic Films’ Vitrocolour E-2200ZC non-PVC process colour film.
