SA International has launched the International Sign and Printmakers Guild, a member-led organisation designed to help sign and print providers grow their businesses and reduce costs. Membership is currently free to any sign shop or print provider.

Fespa Global Summit presses home need for integration and experimentation
Keynote speakers at the annual Fespa Global Summit in London this week pressed home the need for printers, and those in the wide-format space specifically, to pay more attention to integration and experimentation if the sector is to benefit from the opportunities afforded it by technological development.
Accelerator option turbo charges Onset printers
An option that allows users to get a get up to a 20% jump in productivity from their Onset printer with no loss in print quality has been made available by Inca Digital Printers. Developed and tested with Fujifilm, it has been beta tested by Superior Creative services, where production director Stewart Powell described it as “like having a turbo charger”.
Fuji develops Onset handling system specifically for corrugated print market
Fujifilm is targeting the digitally printed corrugated market with a new handling system and speciality inks for its Onset UV flatbed printers. The system is still in prototype stage, expected to go to beta testing in March and be ready to show the public by June.

Sign Wise buys Mutoh ValueJet 1624
Sign Wise UK has bought a Mutoh ValueJet 1624 from Colourgen reseller Random Choice Solutions. The new machine will work hand in hand with Sign Wise’s existing Mutoh printer, which it bought 15 years ago.
DuraCure backlit films launches
Sihl Direct UK has launched three new backlit films – DuraCure Backlit 170, DuraCure Backlit 130 and LightCure Backlit 145 DS. All three are for use with UV inkjet printers as well as solid ink and offset systems. They can also be printed on laser printers.

The Print Futures Awards, the scheme for young people in printing, publishing and the graphic arts, sponsored by The Printing Charity, Unite the Union and the BPIF, is set to more than treble in potential size.
