Konica Minolta to unveil textile printers

Konica Minolta IJ Technologies, the well-known manufacturer of inkjet printheads, will be unveiling new inkjet textile printers at textile machinery exhibition ITMA 2011 in Barcelona, 22 – 29 September. The newcomers are the Nassenger Pro 1000 for high-volume production and the Nassenger Pro 60 for lighter production.  

BAPC announces 2011 Conference date

The BAPC 2011 conference will take place on 21 - 22 October at The Holiday Inn hotel in Elstree, Herts.

New Mactac wall coverings available from ADS

A wall covering and interior graphics material from Mactac has been introduced by distributor Amari Digital Supplies. Called Deco-Satin, it is part of the Decoat sub-range of products that also includes Mactac’s Deco-Texture and WW200 materials.

Floato Photo-Balloon hits the market

After 11 years of intense R&D, a £1.5m investment, extensive trials and strategic market research, Magic International has launched Floato Photo-Balloon, a personalised helium foil balloon service that uses Epson large-format inkjet printers. The company expects to announce its commercial partners shortly.

BAPC gains members

During July this year the BAPC attracted 22 new member companies, the highest intake for July in its history.

Epson customers see price cuts on new kit

Until 30 September existing Epson Stylus customers can save £250 on the 24 inch Stylus Pro 7890 and 7900 Series, £400 on the Stylus Pro 9890 and 9900 Series, and £850 on the 64 inch Stylus Pro 11880 as part of Epson’s loyalty programme.

Resolution GB wins ArtSystems Raise Your Game Business Award 2011

Resolution GB has won the ArtSystems ‘Raise Your Game’ Award for 2011 that was created to enable resellers within the wide-format print and imaging sector to gain recognition for their efforts in improving their business services and raising their standards of service to their customers.  The award was launched in April at the ArtSystems ‘Raise Your Game’ Business Forum, held to assist resellers, with a range of supporting programmes. 

Fingerprint fo+ takes Roland LEC-540 

Fingerprint fo+ has installed a Roland LEC-540 print-and-cut machine at its premises in Welwyn Garden City. The machine, supplied by Atech, has been bought to create short run graphics, colour proofs and packaging prototypes. 

New sign business created

Create Signs is a newly formed company in Cambridge. The company has set up shop with a Mimaki JV33 printer and a Seal 62 base laminator, bought from Robert Horne, to offer banners, vehicle graphics, large-format posters, prints and canvas and multi-run stickers for the corporate and exhibition markets.

Heidelberg to distribute the Vutek GS series in Canada

German offset press manufacturer Heidelberg is to distribute EFI’s Vutek GS series of superwide format digital printers throughout Canada as litho printers seek to diversify and move into the large-format sector. The move follows an agreement at the start of the year for Heidelberg to sell the Vutek GS series of printers in the US. Heidelberg Canada will also distribute Saphira inks as well as parts, consumables, accessories and upgrades related to these printers, plus it will provide customer and technical support for the Vutek GS series of printers, including installation and training.

Océ and Zund show combined print/cut offering in open days

The Océ Arizona 360 GT flatbed printer series get star billing at two free-to-attend open days organised in conjunction with Zund Plotting Systems in St Albans, Hertfordshire, 13-14 September. The companies will be combining Océ digital printers and Zund digital cutting technologies to show how they can streamline workflows, save labour, reduce waste and increase productivity.

Dow Chemical Company to produce a sustainable, fabric wrap to encircle the Olympic Stadium

The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) has announced that Worldwide Olympic Partner The Dow Chemical Company is to produce a sustainable, fabric wrap that will encircle London’s Olympic Stadium during the Olympic and Paralympic Games, home to several athletic events, and the opening and closing ceremonies.

Quark partners with Snap for new Irish online print service as it announces acquisition

Snap has partnered with Quark to bring a new online design, print, and marketing service called MyDesignbySnap.ie to the Irish market. The announcement came as Quark confirmed its takeover by Platinum Equity, a global firm specialising in the merger, acquisition and operation of companies that provide services and solutions across various business markets. Since its foundation in 1995 Platinum has completed more than 115 acquisitions.
