MX Display Solutions puts on a show

 
MX Display Solutions, Derby, recently held a ‘Bondholder Breakfast’ at which guests were invited to view the range of exhibition and display products as well as other internal and external graphic elements. The event, held at MX Display’s site, allowed the company to showcase its printing techniques and product capabilities, with materials supplied by Robert Horne. 

New Mactac laminate designed to enhance indoor graphics

 
New overlaminate Mactac Permafun Peach Skin is now available from Amari Digital Supplies. Said to add a softer touch to internally displayed graphics, the laminate comprises a 600 micron (film and adhesive) semi-transparent and cadmium-free polymeric face film, a high-tack permanent clear and UV-stable adhesive and clay-coated white paper liner.

New colour calibration and proofing tools from X-Rite

 
X-Rite has announced the immediate availability of i1Display Pro and ColorMunki Display, two hardware and software solutions for colour calibration and profiling of displays, laptops and projectors.

Icon’s eco-efficiencies recognised by Carbon Trust

Event branding and production specialist Icon has been certified as being fully compliant to the Carbon Trust Standard. The company has also achieved the Carbon Neutral Standard, which means that is has a net zero carbon footprint.

Durst to premiere Kappa 180 textile printer at ITMA

Durst will premiere its Kappa 180 textile printer at the ITMA trade show in Barcelona in September. Developed on the back of Durst's proprietary Quadro printhead technology the new machine offers printing speeds in excess of 600m2/hr and output resolutions up to 1056 x 600 dpi. It uses Durst’s own Kappa inks.

The RollsRoller flatbed applicator from William Smith is now available in 18 configurations and in three performance categories: standard duty, premium grade and traffic that, as the grading implies, is specific to the production of road traffic signs.

Océ Japan to become wholly owned subsidiary of Canon Marketing Japan

Canon and Océ are combining their printing operations in Japan. The move follows the completion on 9 March 2010 of the public offer by Canon for Océ outstanding common shares, which was launched with the aim of creating the overall number one presence in the printing industry.

VIGC launches new benchmark for print jobs

Printers, publishers and brand owners no longer have to use control strips for quality benchmarking thanks to a new offering from the Flemish Innovation Centre for Graphic Communication. The organisation has launched its image-based Quality Perception Benchmarking Service, which allows for objective comparisons of print jobs. 

Roland printers now supported by GMG ColorProof for packaging mock-ups 

GMG ColorProof proofing software now fully supports the new Roland VersaUV LEC-540 printers for digital mock-up creation and the VersaCamm printers VS-300, VS-420, VS-540 and VS-640 with integrated contour cutting capability. Besides mock-up creation, these printers allow for digital label production on various substrates suitable for solvent ink systems.

Fosco expands trade print capabilities with new HP Scitex machines

Having installed a HP Scitex TJ8350 printer with inline finishing earlier this year, Midlands-based Fosco Hayes Hurdley (Fosco’s) is now installing a second HP Scitex FB7500 printer. The investment is part of Fosco’s 70th anniversary expansion plans as it looks to increase flexibility.

Josero to sell printers

Josero is entering the large-format inkjet printer market. Best known as the master distributor of Triangle inks in the UK and Ireland, the addition printers to its portfolio is designed to consolidate its place in the market.
