Agfa Graphics increases its inkjet portfolio increase at Fespa Digital

Agfa Graphics has said “a significant range of new inkjet printers will be launched at Fespa Digital” where its will introduce a new model of the M-Press family for industrial high-end digital printing solutions as well a new high productivity Jeti 5m UV roll-to-roll printer. These will be shown beside the recently revealed Anapurna M1600 and the new roll-to-roll options for the Jeti Titan flatbed machine.

Fujifilm expands Acuity printer offering

Fujifilm Europe has introduced new Acuity wide-format UV inkjet printers with what it has called “significant functional improvements and enhanced value for the end-user”.  The new editions of the Acuity Advance and Acuity Advance X2 will sit alongside the Acuity Advance HS HD 3545 and Advance HS HD3545 X2 flatbed devices.

Expect to see latex additions at Fespa Digital

HP has unveiled additions to its latex printer line-up will be showcased at Fespa Digital. New to the portfolio is: the HP Scitex LX850, a 3.2m machine with multiple workflow features, including dual-roll, roll-to-free fall and roll-to-collector handling and an ink collector; and the cheaper priced LX820 3.2m printer in a roll-to-roll configuration. 

Frazer Chesterman and Marcus Timson leave Fespa

It has been confirmed that Frazer Chesterman and Marcus Timpson are leaving Fespa to join the management team of UK-based event organising company Mack Brooks Exhibitions. Chesterman, managing director, exhibitions and events, will be replaced as MD by print industry newcomer Neil Felton on 11 May. It is being left to him to recruit Timson’s replacement as sales and marketing director.

Sign and Digital UK 2011 posts an 22% visitor increase

Faversham House Group, organiser of Sign and Digital UK, has confirmed that 6,756 visitors attended the recent event, a 22% increase on the 2010 show.

Forum calls for ‘two pronged approach in reaction to weak growth figures

The Forum of Private Business has called for a ‘two pronged’ approach to boost economic growth in the UK. Reaction to the recent announcement that UK GDP grew by just 0.5% between January and March, the Forum believes Britain needs to see two main measures in order to foster a meaningful economic recovery - swift business-friendly policies from the Government, and an increase in business and consumer confidence.

Jeti 3020 Titan flatbed now offered with FTR flat-to-roll option

Agfa Graphics has introduced a FTR (flat-to-roll) option for its Jeti 3020 Titan flatbed at the International Sign Expo Show (ISA) in Las Vegas. The field-upgradeable option supports industry standard 126in (3.2m) wide media and can handle rolls up to 750lbs (340kg).

Océ Arizona 360 GT and 360 XT UV flatbed printers announced

Océ has announced the Arizona 360 GT and Arizona 360 XT UV flatbed printers with table sizes of 1.25 x 2.5m and 2.5 x 3.05m respectively. Both have Express mode print options which offer speeds of up to 35m2/hr (360 GT) or 36.4m2/hr (360 XT). A new High Definition print mode for fine feature reproduction and perfectly legible text as small as two-points has been added. The new UV curing system delivers more curing power while reducing heat at the surface, improving support for heat-sensitive media. 

EFI announces more newcomers

Another two new large-format printers have been added to EFI’s line up: the Vutek GS3250LX and Rastek R3204.

Arjowiggins Graphic gets Carbon Footprint accreditation

Arjowiggins Graphic has achieved the well-regarded Carbon Footprint Standard. As part of Arjowiggins Graphic’s ongoing commitment to minimising environmental impact, Carbon Footprint was invited to audit the carbon emissions of the UK sales office. The appraisal examined various aspects of the business - from waste recycling to the use of utilities such as gas and electricity.
