Hybrid Services will have a double presence at Northprint, presenting the Mimaki UJF-3042 A3 LED UV printer and the CJV30 Series of integrated printer/cutters on its own company stand, and showing various generating applications within the new Wide Format Application Showcase.
DPLenticular and www.lenstar.org have teamed up to create the Lenstar Lenticular Print Award. The contest is open to any person or company involved in creating, processing or printing lenticular images. All visual effects (such as flips, animation, zoom, morphing and 3D effects) qualify for the award but must be printed (digital or offset) directly onto the back of lenticular sheets.
Mutoh has announced the immediate availability of its new CMYK stretchable UV inks called 3D UV. Specifically developed for Mutoh’s Zephyr 65 UV inkjet printer, the Mutoh 3D UV ink offers 200% elongation capabilities, making output fit for wrapping on 3D curved, riveted or corrugated surfaces.
Birmingham-based sign-makers and graphics company Hollywood Monster has increased turnover to £5 million after winning major contracts. The new work has led to a recruitment drive to increase the workforce by 10 (25%) at the company’s 2,788m2 headquarters in Tyseley.

HP has developed a vehicle wrapping training course for novice and experienced installers, in association with the Sign School and Bigger Stickers. The two-day course aims to take HP latex ink users through the entire vehicle wrapping process including sales, marketing, design, production and after-sales care. The course will highlight best practice in vehicle wrapping, looking at a range of applications from fleet vehicle livery to individual prestige wraps.
The shortlist nominations for this year’s Sign and Digital UK Awards has been decided and the winners will be announced at the show’s first ever Awards and Networking event on the 13 April at the National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham.
Madico Graphic Films is to be known as Lintec Graphic Films, marking the formalisation of its association with Lintec Corporation, a Japanese materials manufacturer and a primary supplier to the company. The move will permit the company to extend its reach into new geographic and market areas, while also ensuring a faster route to market for new products. Durst has taken the wraps off its latest printer – the Omega 1 entry level UV inkjet machine. Aimed at sign makers, graphic display companies, screenprinters, photolabs and studios, it has been designed to deliver fine art printing quality at an industrial production level.
