Kaspar Papir has become a platinum sponsor of Fespa 2013. CEO Mislav Bobic said: “We are a relatively new player within the industry, and there are still key markets that we would like to penetrate. The Fespa events serve as a wonderful platform for us to network and widen our exposure and launch new products.”

 

At Fespa 2013 Sun Chemical will illustrate its latest aftermarket product, Streamline TX range, a new direct print sublimation textile ink for polyester media for soft signage applications.

Agfa Graphics will launch the Jeti TitanX at Fespa 2013. The UV-curable 3.1 x 2m flatbed printer is said to offer fast switching from four (CMYK) to six-color (high fidelity CMYKLcLm) imaging and back on a job-by-job basis. It also offers white ink with eight dedicated white printheads out of the total 48.

With significant additions to its ColorBooster printer series and the recent changes to its management and financial structure, specialist textile printer developer and manufacturer Hollanders is now participating at Fespa 2013.

EFI has acquired privately held GamSys Software, a developer of  MIS systems for the printing and packaging industries in the French speaking areas of Europe and Africa.

Mid-August should see the first shipments of the HP Latex 3000 Printer, which will make its worldwide debut at Fespa 2013. The announcement coincides with the rebranding of HP Designjet and Scitex latex printers and supplies, now under the umbrella HP Latex, part of the HP Large Format Graphics portfolio.

Inca Digital Printers and Fujifilm will launch the Inca Onset Q40i flatbed UV inkjet printer at Fespa 2013. Using Fujifilm Spectra Dimatix QS10 printheads, the Q40i delivers a 10 picolitre drop size (the S40i uses heads producing 27 picolitre drops) resulting in a 1200dpi apparent resolution. Printing onto media up to 3.14m x 1.6m in size and up to 50mm thick, the Q40i prints up to 310m2/hr (62 full-bed sheets per hour).

Mondi, the paper and packaging manufacturer, has joined Verdigris, the environmental initiative from graphic arts research group Digital Dots. Mondi is the first representative of the paper industry to join the project.

Alwan Color Expertise has made its DeviceLink technology available to Harlequin Rip users via Compose Systems' LinkProfiler plugin. This enables Harlequin Rip users to seamlessly apply colour management, TAC reduction, and make ink savings on the Rip without any add-on to the production workflow.

Research carried out as part of the bank funded BDRC Finance Monitor, showed the number of firms using external finance dipped to a new low in the first three months of 2013 with just 39% of SMEs actively seeking credit. When the first Monitor was undertaken in 2011 the figure stood at 51%, with successive quarterly studies showing a decline, with the number reaching 41% in the last quarter of 2012.
