According to Mimaki a raft of technological breakthroughs means its new LED UV curing JFX500-2131 provides a new benchmark in high volume UV printing. Equipped with Mimaki’s new print engine (six printheads in a three staggered configuration), the JFX500-2131 runs at up to 60m2/h with CMYK (2.5 times faster than the company’s conventional JFX printers) and 45 m2/h for white ink printing.

Ipex organiser Informa Exhibitions has announced a £1m Hosted Buyer Programme for the 2014 event. The company used its new show Cross Media at the start of this week to launch the scheme in the wake of decisions by key suppliers like HP, Agfa and Heidelberg not to exhibit at Ipex.

Oasis Graphics was the graphics house of choice for exhibition stand builder Exib’s installation and gallery for the Japanese athletics equipment company Asics, based at the St Martins Lane Hotel, London. A temporary installation for the duration of the Olympic Games, Exib and Oasis created the Asics gallery as a 9m x 4m space featuring complex multi-layered graphics and lighting, with artwork designed for Asics by noted Brazilian street artist Mateus Bailon.

300 exhibitors are expected at this year's Viscom in Frankfurt, 25-27 October. Over 90% of the hall was booked at the time of writing.

Carrick Signs in Bury has moved into a new 511m2 print shop on Bridge Trading Estate where it has taken delivery of a second HP500 flatbed printer to help cope with the demand for direct print to rigid materials.

Veritek has signed a contract with Epson to deliver all installation, preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs for the latter’s wide range of large format inkjet printers across the UK.  The company has been responsible for the installation and support of all new large format equipment sold directly by Epson in the UK and Ireland since July.
