Pricing below cost a major issue for print shows BPIF Printing Outlook
‘Competitors pricing below cost' remains by far the issue most frequently highlighted by print companies as one of their top three business concerns. 85% of respondents in the latest BPIF 'Printing Outlook' survey (carried out during the first two weeks of July and covering 107 companies employing 8,368 people with a combined turnover of £1 billion) marked this as an issue, followed by ‘late payment’ (31%) and 'survival of major customers' (28%).

FPB blasts move to get SMEs to pay for health and safety inspections
A bid to force small businesses to pay for their own health and safety inspections is being criticised by the Forum of Private Business. Under the ‘Fee for Intervention’ proposals, set to come into force October 2012, firms deemed to be in ‘material breach’ of health and safety regulations by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) would be forced to pay inspectors’ hourly rates from the moment the inspection begins.
2012 Print Futures Awards winners announced
