Print On’s managing director, Alex Oldfield, with the swissQprint Impala
Print On has made its largest machine investment to date replacing five printers for just one.
Managing director Alex Oldfield visited swissQprint’s UK and Switzerland offices where he saw the Impala model in action.
He was impressed by its quality, flexibility, and efficiency, and so decided to replace the company’s previous five machines at its site in Cheadle.
The Impala was installed on October 21 and has already impacted the company’s workflow.
Large format print is being handled with ease and the 2.5×2m flatbed has integrated well with the existing finishing equipment.
The Impala’s 180m²/h productivity is also five times faster than the printers it has replaced, increasing the output from just the one machine.
Moving to a single printer with the latest technology has reduced energy costs with further savings projected with the use of swissQprint’s ink supplies and consumables.
Print On now hopes to deliver improved printing services in small and large formats to its customers which includes: Matalan, Superdrug, and Pets at Home, and Lakeland.
Mr Oldfield said: “To be competitive in such a tough industry, we’re always looking for ways to improve what we do.
“The Impala is revolutionising our large format production processes, helping every aspect of our workload.
“We’re delighted with its impact even in this short time and, alongside the advancements in workflow, are already enhancing the products we provide to customers.”
Print On’s Impala offers more five-colour configuration of CMYK plus white and the roll-to-roll option enabling the team to bid on new work that was previously outside its capabilities.
Clients are being invited to experience the Impala’s quality first-hand during an open week at the company’s Cheadle site on November 19-21.
