KGK Genix’s new Kudu flatbed printer from swissQprint

KGK Genix has installed a new swissQprint Kudu flatbed printer as part of a major expansion programme.

Managing director Graham Pitts immediately bought the hardware after he was given a hands-on demonstration of its capabilities at swissQprint’s headquarters in Bracknell.

The purchase marks the company’s first move away from its long-term standing machine supplier, with the Kudu being opted for its competitive edge for branding and retail client work.

The printer was installed at KGK Genix’s Essex centre, on December 2 as part of a significant investment programme.

Production director, David Pitts, said: “We needed a new machine to elevate our offering, and the Kudu has delivered on all fronts with its speed, flexibility, and sustainability credentials.

“It’s potentially the best machine we’ve ever had and hopefully signals the start of an exciting new relationship with swissQprint.”

The new printer combines advanced flatbed printing capabilities with roll-to-roll functionality.

Equipped with eight channels, it accommodates CMYK, white, varnish, and neon inks.

The two remaining channels offer the potential to upgrade, futureproofing the investment by enabling the machine to evolve to the needs of the business.

The Kudu’s 3.2m×2m flatbed system allows for precise printing on rigid materials such as thin card and double-sided media.

The printer’s sustainability features also align with KGK Genix’s ISO accreditation complementing the company’s goal of reducing its environmental footprint.

The Kudu is certified as first-class in energy efficiency using just 2.2kW of electricity, the same as an average kettle.

It also came with swissQprint’s 36-month warranty for peace of mind.
