Wrights Plastics' solar panel installtion in West Bromwich

The solar panel installation

Nearly two years after installing solar panels at its West Bromwich HQ, Wrights Plastics has confirmed major carbon cutting results.

To date the plastic fabricator has reduced its CO2 emissions by 317.66 tonnes and saved 127 tonnes of standard coal. This is the environmental impact equivalent of planting 176 trees.

The figures highlight the success of Wrights Plastics’ wider sustainability strategy, which focuses on energy efficiency, reducing waste, and investing in more sustainable production methods.

Andy Watkins, director at Wrights Plastics, said: “These results show our long-term investment in sustainability is making a real difference. We’re proud to be helping reduce emissions and supporting a more energy-resilient future for UK manufacturing.”

The solar initiative is part of Wrights Plastics’ broader commitment to sustainable manufacturing, with additional investments in energy-saving equipment and process innovation across its operations.

The solar panel installation was completed in the summer of 2023 and covers 90% of the roof space.
