Antalis has confirmed it’s acquired the assets and trade of Ovenden Papers from its administrators, strengthening its presence in the UK paper merchanting market and bringing the business and its customers into the Antalis network.
The acquisition will see Ovenden Papers continue to operate under the family name, supported by Antalis in the UK & Ireland.
Antalis has said that the priority is to ensure a smooth transition and maintain continuity of supply and service for customers, and that it will work closely with employees, customers and suppliers to minimise disruption as the business becomes part of the Antalis organisation.
Nick Thompson, regional managing director at Antalis UKI, said: “While it is disappointing to see a long-established business such as Ovenden Papers LTD enter administration, we are pleased to have been able to acquire its assets and trade and provide a route forward.
“Our immediate priority is to provide stability and continuity for customers, suppliers and employees while we undertake a detailed review of the business and its operations.
“We see opportunities to build on the strengths of Ovenden Papers and combine these with Antalis’ product portfolio, distribution network and wider resources. We look forward to working with the team and customers.”
