Konica Minolta’s head office in Japan with solar panels
Konica Minolta has celebrated reaching two milestones after the company announced its partnership with Leeds University Business School had surpassed 10 years.
During the decade of collaboration, more than 500 students have taken the university’s Masters of Business Administration (MBA).
The Postgraduate qualification is supported by Konica Minolta as part of its ongoing ESG (environmental, social, and governance) commitment to support the community and the next generation of business leaders.
The programme’s support is being led by Milan Lakhani, director of transformations and partner, ESG at Konica Minolta.
He said: “We are delighted to mark a decade of cooperation and look forward to continuing and growing our mutual relationship to nurture the next generations of business leaders.”
Yet there is still more to celebrate at Konica Minolta as the company has also announced a sister company has achieved its goal of sourcing 100% renewable electricity at all of its global production sites.
Konica Minolta Mechatronics, which is a production site for digital printing systems in Japan, achieved this feat by getting its energy from renewable sources using non-fossil certificates with tracking at its four sites.
It also installed solar panels at its head office in 2021 which has since provided 13% of its electricity needs.
The company is now setting its sights on being carbon neutral by 2050 and is part of the RE100 – a global leadership initiative that brings together businesses committed to sourcing 100% renewable energy for their operations.
In recognition of such efforts, Konica Minolta’s net-zero targets were validated by the SBT initiative, an organisation to help attain the target of the Paris Agreement, in July 2024.
