Paul Coghlan joins Tecna

Tecna has appointed Paul Coghlan as finance director to support the exhibition stand design and build specialist’s next phase of growth.

Mr Coghlan brings over a decade of finance experience spanning audit, financial control, and commercial finance. He joins Tecna from Vivobarefoot, where as FP&A Manager he played a central role in scaling the business from £20m to nearly £100m in revenue, and helped secure more than £25m in Series A funding. Prior to Vivobarefoot, he trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA) with RSM UK, delivering over 100 audit engagements across sectors including fintech, construction, and private equity.

In his new role, Mr Coghlan will take full ownership of Tecna’s finance function, from day-to-day operations through to long-term financial strategy, partnering closely with the leadership team to drive performance, strengthen financial controls, and build scalable infrastructure to support the company’s continued growth.

Simeon Wicks, CEO, said: “Paul joins us at an exciting time. We’ve built real momentum over the past few years after our re-brand, and as we push into our next phase of expansion, having a finance director with Paul’s blend of strategic insight and hands-on rigour is exactly what the business needs. His track record of scaling finance functions alongside fast-growing companies speaks for itself, and I’m confident he’ll be a huge asset to our leadership team.”

James Longley, managing director, added: “What stood out to me about Paul was his ability to operate at both ends of the spectrum; comfortable shaping strategy in the boardroom, but just as happy rolling up his sleeves to get into the detail – our whole business works on this ethic and positive attitude. That’s precisely the balance we need as we scale. He’ll be a brilliant partner to me and the rest of the senior leadership team as we continue to grow the business responsibly and ambitiously.”

George Green, sales director, commented: “From a sales perspective, having a commercially minded finance leader in the room changes the conversation. Paul’s experience translating numbers into real business insight will help us make smarter, faster decisions as we win opportunities and expand into new markets. It’s a real statement of intent from Tecna.”

Speaking on his appointment, Mr Coghlan said: “I’m delighted to be joining Tecna at such a pivotal moment in its growth story. I’ve always believed finance should be a strategic partner to the business, not just a reporting function, and that philosophy feels like a natural fit here. I’m looking forward to working closely with Simeon, James, George and the wider team to build a finance function that matches the ambition of the business.”
