Optimus is introducing a number of additions to its core MIS software suite, and has announced two new partnership agreements to integrate its software with other specialist providers.

The company, which has been delivering MIS to the print and graphic arts sector since 1982, is launching the Mobile Customer Information Centre at Drupa. This is a browser-based platform providing instant access to current and historical customer information for staff on the move.

“Customer expectations are higher than ever before. They want fast, accurate responses when they have a question or issue,” said Nicola Bisset, group managing director of Optimus. “Key ease-of-use features include intuitive navigation that maintains a seamless history of each session, recording the conversational flow as it evolves. This allows users to effortlessly retrace their steps and filter real-time status and timeline data, without the clutter of opening multiple windows or tabs. At a glance, users can view customer details, addresses, jobs, proofs, enquiries, deliveries, orders, invoices, stock levels and budgets – ensuring centralised customer data is available to view at anytime, anywhere.”

Also new is the Optimus Information Centre which centralises a company’s entire business data into a single, intuitive hub – making it seamless to view, interrogate, analyse, export, or integrate information as needed.

“For over 40 years, Optimus has been renowned for the integrity and richness of its data,” said Bisset. “With the Optimus Information Centre, we’re taking the next evolutionary step by centralising all that trusted data into one easily accessible place, providing greater transparency and driving more informed decision-making across the business.”

Beyond aggregating information, the new platform allows powerful actions like linking data visualisations to Google Maps, launching emails without a separate client, and flexibly filtering datasets become turnkey capabilities.

Being launched at Drupa is Ask Optimus AI too, of which Bisset said: “Unlocking the potential of any company’s data by harnessing the power and speed of artificial intelligence, we believe is the very next frontier for business advancement. At this year’s Drupa, I am proud to announce we are launching Ask Optimus AI. Designed to determine the most insightful trends and business critical information to help drive increases in profitability and performance, this innovation will ultimately enable you to ask questions about your data and obtain an answer in seconds, we truly believe this new platform can help bring your data to life.

“Even though this development is set to continue for at least the next two years to reach its full potential, the team at Optimus believed starting a dialogue with the industry at this year’s Drupa, was an opportunity that should not be missed!  We wish to better understand the overall market appetite for investment in AI, and we will therefore be working with other trusted partner companies to help uncover the right data models to fully invest in.”

Coinciding with the product introductions Optimus has announced a new automation partnership with Element, to allow PSPs to import any spreadsheet into the Optimus system and automatically create quotes or jobs.

“First by using Element, customer provided data will be validated to map to a PSP’s Optimus dash MIS then, within a few clicks, the creation of either a quote or a full production job can be easily achieved within Optimus,” said Steve Richardson, Optimus group commercial director

“This is all made possible by harnessing Optimus Web Services, which acts as a very precise API to deliver bi-directional XML message communication between both systems within seconds.  The net result is not only a significant reduction in the time it takes to enter a campaign, but it also removes the potential for error handling.”

Optimus has also signed a partnership with Carbon Quota, to enable PSPs to integrate their Optimus MIS with Carbon Quota to obtain accurate automated Carbon reporting.
